Browsing the grocery store aisles tonight I was itchin’ to
make something Eastery to give away as a gift. I started grabbing bags of
Easter candy off the shelves and the light bulb turned on – Treat Bags! Our
Adornit Design Team member, Stephanie Austin shared this idea with us in our
October 2006 Trifold. She made Treat Bags with Halloween candy and paper. When I came home I put Boston to bed and started unpacking the candy I purchased. I purged my scrapbook room
for the paper I wanted to use and was so excited to see how easy our 12x12 patterned
paper, Easter Parade would make this project.
Each bag really only takes a
minute or two – SIMPLE and QUICK (just what I need)! Tomorrow I’m spending the
day with friends and can’t wait to have Boston give a Treat Bag to each of them. Here are my instructions (I even took pictures for you!).
1. Fill a sandwich bag full of fun Easter treats.
2. Trim 21681 Easter Parade patterned paper 6 x 12 inches. Now in my opinion the reason why this project is so simple is because of the patterned paper. The way this paper is designed it already has faux stitching, cute art and has variation so you don't have to trim and piece together - our designers here at Adornit did it all for us!
3. Fold over the bottom one inch. Trim with decorative
4. Position sandwich bag into the fold (I fold over the Ziploc
part of the bag to make it fit perfect) and staple three times. Quick Tip: My bag hung over the sides a bit so I just took my scissors and trimmed the excess plastic bag off.
5. Now, this could be really simple and stop right there or
I went one more step and added 18” of ribbon around the top and tied a simple
I just finished up our April 07 trifold that is filled with Mother's and Father's day ideas and product. Here is your first look at the new paper. I will post more images next week - you're gonna love it! WE SURE LOVE OUR DAD by Robin Karren.
Happy Monday everyone! I just wanted to show you my cute table decor I made last week. The idea is from our March 2007 trifold and can also be found in our gallery. The Spring Blocks look so cute with my bright green kitchen walls!
Alison's Trash to Fash post this week? I love that she makes pillows out of napkins. Every year when we go to the Chicago show we take a few days and head downtown to just shop and have fun. Crate and Barrel is our usual stop and she always finds funky designed table napkins to alter and make stuff out of. This year I bought me a few to make some pillows for my new house, I've only finished two and they're nothing spectacular but I love the fact that they're something original and match my house perfect. Thanks for the inspiration Ali!
Thanks goodness for GOOGLE! My Adobe Photoshop has been crashing on my home computer for several months now and I have not been able to fix it and haven't taken the time to have someone look at it. Tonight I was able to pin point the problem and then go to google and search. I was directed straight to a link that told me exactly how to fix it and now it works! Thanks GOOGLE! (Too bad you can't see me busting out my happy dance, my hubby is giving me a funny look, LOL)
This is a layout I made last weekend for my Year to Remember Class over at Big Picture. We have been talking about being grateful and we were challenged to choose a descriptive word and then do a layout around that word. I chose the word BE. My journaling says, "Grateful we have the agency to be who we want to be." I used our new papers, ribbon, and dimensional stickers (shhh... they're not shipping yet - just a teaser). We were also challenged to use a transparent image on our layout. I love this! I chose to use our texture templates. I hand cut a heart shape and the used green paint to dry brush the top. It adds such a nice subtle look to the layout. These are all pics I took forever ago, just had them hanging out in some of my stuff and I thought they would be perfect for this layout.
