Project #3

Love_blocks_a

I created these "Love" letters to display on our fireplace. I used the Families Forever collection to match the blue and brown decor of my living room and because I wanted to include the "Families are Forever" saying on the blocks since love is the foundation of our family. The wood items from Adornit - Carolee's Creations are wonderful to work with since they have a very fine finish that's easy to paint and alter with paper.

Supplies:
Wood Love Letters
Families Forever
Soft Tan Cloves
Floral Cloves
Together Floral
Flowery Dots
Grandparents - Cardstock Stickers
Paint
Pop Dots

Project #2

Project2

This photo of my friend with his daughter is one of my favorite photos. In this quick glimpse we see the special bond they share. The Blue Cotton Candy and Lovefest Flowers gave me the soft touch I was looking for. Once again I was able to mix papers from different lines easily to achieve the soft look I wanted for this photo.

Supplies:
Blue Cotton Candy
Lovefest Flowers
Tan Aqua Dots
Together Worn
Glamorous Cardstock Stickers
Foam Alphabets - White
Fluid Chalk
White Sharpie

Project #1 with Tristann...

Project1

I made this layout for my friend. This is her daughter during a state dance competition. What I love about Adornit products is how easily you can mix and match the papers. I combined the Together Scroll with their dance papers and 3D stickers to match the background in the photos. These beautiful papers let me showcase this beautiful dancer perfectly.

Supplies:
Together Scroll
You Can Dance
Love 2 Dance
3D Stickers - Dance
Pop Dots

Welcome Tristann...

Ready for another creative week?? This week Tristann will be sharing some awesome projects. Here's a bit more about Tristann...
Tris_head_shot_bw_800_3

Hi, I'm Tristann and I live Washington State. I have been married to my best friend and my knight, Bryan, since 1989. Our baby is a retired racing greyhound that we rescued in 2000. I work full-time in Human Resources for a travel company.

I have been doing crafts and collecting memories since I was a little girl. I keep ticket stubs, photos, programs, mementos, etc and love arts and crafts. In 1999 my friend introduced me to the new world of scrapbooking and by 2001 it became one of my passions, combining my love of preserving memories with my love for crafts. I enjoy not only scrapbooking my memories but the challenge of creating paper-based art. I love the fact that my creations not only record what was happening at the time but they allow me to share a piece of myself through my art.

I have been published several times in magazines and books including Scrapbooks, etc., Memory Makers, Paper Crafts, Scrapbook Trends, Paper Trends, Memory Makers Books, Cantata Books, Legacy, Scrapbook & Cards Today, Memories Community, PaperKuts, NanC and Company books, and CorrespondenceArt .

I am extremely honored to be a guest designer for Adornit - Carolee's Creations. I've enjoyed the opportunity to work with their amazing products and I hope my projects are an inspiration to you.

need a good laugh??

Then click here to read a hilarious post on my friend's blog.

Tami R you win!

Tami guessed right on my post a few days ago. (Tami please email me) The new product I used was our ribbon - 20 new styles coming soon. Here's a breakdown of what I used on my page:
First_photo_2

Here's a picture of the new yellow Loopty Lou Ribbon. It's a 1/4". It even has glitter in it - YEAH I love glitter! The squiggle is our signature piece that has been on all our catalog covers over the past year and I'm so excited to finally have it in a ribbon.

The papers I used are from our new Love Fest Collection. Dainty Scallops is the background paper and Valentines Stripe is the other patterned paper I cut and used. Now this was a trick question because I actually used two new CHA products. You may remember our Family Dimensional Foam Sticker. It has been so popular that we re-vised it for our new relase and instead of teal - it's black. For my journaling I love our Sophisticated Tags Clear Stamps for my journaling. The glittery alphabet stickers are a Making Memories product which I love because they have glitter. And last the aqua photo corner is made from another product I can't get enough of, Cool Tags Die Cuts. I cut the scallop tag in half and then placed our Clear Jewel Droplets in the center of each circle. Well, that's my play by play of this layout. I had not scrapped forever so it was fun to pull all this out and quickly scrap something. Hope you're all having a wonderful Sunday. Dax and I are both a little under the weather with colds, but Dax is also teething so that makes him feel even worse. This week I have Tristann Graves sharing her talents with us. See you tomorrow!

Day #5

Well this last project came to me when I saw the cute valentine line. Since it is right around the corner, I decided to make a paper bag book. This book will be to keep all of the Valentine's that my daughter gets from her classmates. It has the perfect little pockets for that. And the XO ribbon was the perfect touch for this book.

I have enjoyed working with all of these Adorn-it products. I hope you all enjoyed what I made as well. Please visit me any time at my blog: http://michellelanning.typepad.com/

Thanks again,

Day #4 with Michelle

Alwaysmagical

Just because these papers were too cute to not use up, I created another layout from Disneyland. This was one of the first times that my daughter really remembered being there. So I am glad that I have finally scrapped the picture that marked such a special moment.

Day #3 with Michelle

This picnic line of paper was so fun and whimsical to use. I realized that I had MANY pictures of my daughter eating snacks. So I used the mini scalloped book and made this 'Summer Yum' mini book. My daughter got a kick out of it, especially the one where she has puddin' all over her face. I hope you enjoy it!

today was fun...

why you ask? Our printer brought us the proofs for our 66 new patterned papers for the upcoming tradeshow. I will share some 'peeks' sometime soon. It was so much fun to see the real colors and sizes compared to seeing them on the computer screen. Soooo.... I had time to do a layout this weekend. The first one to spot the BRAND NEW product I used on this layout will receive a free gift. Leave your guess in the comments box. I scrapped this photo of us together at the hospital. Our parents brought Boston to see the baby and this picture brings back all of those memories of us being a family of four and Boston's excitement to meet his baby brother for the first time.

Dax is just about eight months old now and he's got the crawling down. Here's some picture that I took this afternoon.
