Classic Challenge - Week 3

Happy weekend everyone! So this week is going to be catch up (well for me at least). The boys have both been sick so I didn't get much scrapping time in. If you've already finished pages using your tags go ahead and finish scrapping the rest of the Classic Pictures you've chosen. Be sure you include your journaling. Next week we're going to finish up our albums by altering our album covers. Have a great, creative weekend! And be sure to check out LNKLADY's Gallery, she uploaded her pages using tags - GREAT JOB!

answer time...

Cheryl asked a great question about our Classic Challenge.
I've got my 5 photos ready and saw this week's challenge- tags. I have a hard time fitting them in so this will really be good for me. My question is that I don't have an 8x8 album and would like to use the 12x12. How can I incorporate this challenge? Just by using more photos? Any advise would be helpful.
First I'd like to say - yeah for going 'outside your box' and using tags. That's fine that you'll be using a 12x12 album instead. My answer - just make a beautiful one page layout using your classic photo. This will give you more room to journal and express your feelings. Also - just use the tags on a larger scale. My layouts used smaller tags so that they don't overpower my page, with a larger canvas go bigger.
If anyone else has questions just holler and I'll do my best to answer.

Classic Challenge - Week2

Title_photos

Welcome to week TWO. If you are new to the Classic Challenge please start here.
So how are you coming?? I have a few more pictures I need to choose and print out but I'm loving the process. This week we are going to start our Favorite Pictures Album. Because I'm using our Challenge Kit my album is 8x8 inches. But before you get too far ahead of me - there are some instructions. I want you to choose 5 of your photographs to make five separate pages. In my scrapbooks TAGS are a classic. I love how easy they are to use and all the different things you can do with Tags. In my scrap space I have three drawers that sit right beside my chair. The very top drawer is where I keep my essentials.
Mydrawers
In this drawer you will find my BAG OF TAGS. I love this little bag and I am often grabbing for it.
Bagsoftags
Any tag shape I like whether it be from a piece of clothing, a punch out, my children's toy, etc goes into this bag. When I want a tag I grab the tag shape I want and trace it onto my patterned paper.
So, your challenge for these five layouts is to use tags in FIVE different ways. Here's an example of my first layout. I used tags as a border on my layout. But, don't forget to add your journaling - that's the most important part of this album. HAVE FUN - I can't wait to see your progress.

challenge kit...

So, if you'd like to be ready for the next step in our challenge this weekend you can start thinking about patterned paper and a mini album you would like to use. I did do some work for you today - I created a Classic Challenge Kit with an exciting group of patterned paper. And the best part, we created an EXCLUSIVE album for the challenge. It is included in the Classic Challenge Kit. It is a oh-so-cute wood scallop rectangle with 12 page protectors. So, click on the link to order your kit. Or you can of course use other product you already have or make a trip to your local scrapbook store to find product that makes you happy.

Challenge

Title_photos
Are you ready to embark on a new challenge? I am, and I know you're going to want to join me. Look at the title - you'll see the first word is CLASSIC. Think a second about what that means. I looked it up - Creation of the highest excellence. Adhering to established standards & principles. Classic Proof. First Class.
2008 marks Adornit - Carolee's Creations 12th year in the scrapbook industry. 12 years, as you know we were one of the first companies to create product specific for scrapbooking. Time and time again we have heard from store owners and consumers that Adornit is a CLASSIC, a staple, in their scrapbooks. As we were working on our tagline for 2008 we knew it had to be 12 YEARS OF CLASSIC CREATIONS.
We believe in the CLASSICS of life and that's where the CLASSIC CHALLENGE starts. This will be a month long challenge. I'm just like you - busy. So, I have broken down this challenge into four weeks. Weekends are best for me so that's when I'll be updating my progress and giving more direction. Then, when March is over you will have completed something that records the CLASSICS in your life. And April will bring a new challenge.
Okay, I'll bring you to the first direction of the challenge - CLASSIC PHOTOS. I love the emotions and memories that come back as you flip through photos. Certain photos bring more than others. Sometimes you laugh out loud and other times you hold back a tear. This week I want you to pull out your photos - whether stored in a box or computer. Choose the ones that pull at you the most. Grab a Sticky Pad and quickly write down you feelings as you choose each one. Put the sticky note on the back of that photo. Then, move to the next one. It doesn't matter the size, quality, or number of the photos - it's the emotions that matter. Here's a quick picture at my progress.

I want everyone to follow along, so please post a link to your gallery or blog in the comments as you post your progress. I can't wait to see!
