day 2 with Stephanie...

Hello again! Here in little old Cache Valley we’ve got snow! It was suppose to snow 8” but it’s not quite that deep- maybe 2-3”. This snow is really putting me in the mood for Christmas. I decided today that I really do like snow, I don’t like cold but I like snow. I like the way it makes everything look clean (I really like that it covers up my dirt/weeds in my front yard!) I love living somewhere that we have 4 different seasons. I couldn’t resist showing you this lay-out from a fun winter activity here in Cache Valley. Every year we take a jaunt to see the elk at Hardware Ranch. So fun, we ride the sleigh out and get to see them quite close.

 

I thought I would tell you a little bit more about me. I am a mom to two girls and one boy. My girls are 7 and 5 and my little boy is 6 months. I am so blessed, they are good kids but they do keep me BUSY! I have a wonderful husband, Doug, who puts up with my crazy whims and supports me in everything I do. I tend to have 10 different projects going on at any one time. I am PTA president at my daughter’s elementary school, I do foot zoning (kind of like reflexology) and I scrapbook for hire not to mention I am busy with church activities and a bunch of other things. I wouldn’t have it any other way, I love my life! Both Doug and I grew up here in CacheValley (different ends of valley, rival high schools) and we are blessed to have families who are really close and we get to see each other a lot!

I am also the lucky aunt to a bunch of nieces and nephews. So, I can’t help but include this lay-out of my sweet niece,

Can you tell I love this winter paper! As I was looking through my lay-outs I couldn’t believe how many different lay-outs I have done with it. Plus now Adornit has come out with NEW papers that match it. (How lucky are we!) Have you seen the “punch-outs, flip frames and pockets” – love them! (That’s where that little file folder came from.) The paper clips are so fun to use, and I can never say enough about the solid twills. And since everything needs a little “Bling” those droplets are my new favorite embellishments! Maybe next time I’ll show you the gift tags I made with them and the Adorn it stamps. Ahh, those stamps, well, that’s a whole different story…

Hello and Happy Holidays!

I'm so glad it's this time of year again. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope ya'll did too! I've been feverishly working on completing all the lines and products I've come up with. Good news for you- all finished items are due by the end of this week to put to print! I'm very excited to see how they all turn out. I've pretty much told you all about the items I'm doing. I'll go over a few more specifics as the weeks go on though.

One item I can focus on today is Alphabet stickers. Adornit is starting a new product. These stickers are foamy/poofy stickers. Don't know the exact material, Carolee tried explaning them to me and they sound super cool. Anyway- I have come up with an alphabet that will be made out of this material. The edges will be faux "inked" to look like they are distressed already. How cool and easy is that? I absolutely LOVE alphabet stickers..... this wil be a huge bonus to my collection. I know I have to ink EVERYTHING under the sun. And it can be quite time consuming, so to have a product that has it done already- makes it a lot easier. To describe my font....... um.... let's see. I guess it's a mix between handwritten and text. I guess it's uniform messiness?! hahahaha- that's the best way to describe it! Along with the rest of my items, I am very excited for this one as well. I'll be coming up with some projects with these included on them once they have been printed as well.

I'd give you a glance at my font, but that would ruin the surprise....... maybe once I complete it- I'll give you a sneeky peeky?!

Things continue to move forward. I have to add that being an Apprentice is so much fun. I'm definitely learning so much. I knew a lot had to go into making product, but seriously...... it's really A LOT! I've been sent file upon file on how to put things together and the correct sizes and formats and shapes...... it's difficult to keep it all straight unless you are very organized! (it's a good thing I am!)

the joy of boys...

Look at this 'shiner' I came home to last night.  Boston is of course (like all little boys) into climbing into and on top of everything.  He was playing in our room and crawling under our bed.  He went a little too fast and met the bottom of the bed frame with his eye - poor guy!  When I came home and asked him what happened he put on his pouty face and actually started fake crying!  What a kid!  I will definitely be scrapping these pictures - the fake crying tops the cake LOL!

day one with Stephanie...

Hi, I’m so excited to be the guest blogger this week! I love anything that has to do with scrapbooking and papercrafting! I have scrapbooked for about 13 years now, actually I’ve always scrapbooked but when I was younger I used construction paper and Elmers glue! Now I hope the things I use are a little bit safer. I live here in beautiful Cache Valley, in a town that is only about 7 minutes away from the Adorn it warehouse. I used to work at Adornit/Carolee’s Creations but while I was pregnant this last year I was put on bedrest and had to quit. I miss working there but LOVE that I am able to still be on their design team. I also make 3 projects per month that go on the Adornit web-site. I love this job – it always makes me stretch.

 I love Christmas! I love Christmas Eve and I love Christmas morning but more than anything I love the Christmas season. It starts (in my house) the day after Thanksgiving with “Black Friday” shopping – what fun! (It’s all about the hunt!) (** I actually ran into Steph twice Friday morning, I think she was following me, LOL!) Then we party and celebrate all the way until New Year’s Day. A month full of family and fun - what more could we ask for?

 Well, enough about that. This lay-out is one from our “Grandma Christmas Party” a couple of years ago. We have so much fun together. You’ll notice that this has a bunch of pictures on it, that’s me; I hardly ever do a scrapbook page with only one or two pictures. I have lots of pictures, lots of close family, and lots of memories so I hate to leave any pictures off my pages. Looking forward to talking to you all this week! my Thanksgiving weekend...

Nope, I didn't scrap single page and I didn't make a single Christmas card but here is what I did do:

• Enjoyed a filling Thanksgiving dinner with my In-Laws
• Watched a movie with my hubby, talked and ate some more
• Went to my parents and relaxed
• My mother-in-law and SIL somehow talked me into waking up at 4 am to go shopping
• Shopped among all the zillions of people and actually got ALL my shopping done!
• Wrapped a 1/4 of my presents
• Caught up on my sleep
• Had my family over Saturday night for dinner and games
• Started making pillows for my couch
• Developed my film from last years Christmas - now waiting to be scrapped

I was totally happy with my weekend and I hope you had a wonderful holiday too!  This week we have the opportunity of hearing from our Guest Blogger, Stephanie Austin!

Hey everyone! As I sat down today thinking of what I was going to tell you, it occurred to me that I never gave you a sneak peek at the Hailey Line. So here's the colors that are in that collection. Just a reminder- this is an All-In-One album kit.

Now, the next thing I can tell you, that I am sooo excited for, is the next thing that will be coming out! I have designed a chipboard mini album and a "Treasure Box". Don't know if that's what it's going to be called, but we'll just name it that for now. The mini album is adorable. It's designed differently- the way that it opens is unique and for display purposes, is quite perfect. :)  The box, what will happen is this: will have a lid that can be pulled off and when that happens, the sides fall open. you are left with a completely blank canvas on both sides of the box. What I love is that you can have it as a display piece or you can hang it on the wall. I am so excited for this to come out! I'll be doing examples with it once it comes out.

I've been so blessed by this opportunity- I just hope everyone is as excited as I am! There's more to share, but I'll leave that for the weeks to come! By the time I'm done explaining everything- you're going to want every single item that's coming out. And believe me....... with what Adornit has planned to debut in Jan-----you won't want to miss a single thing! Let's just say, start drooling now.......I know I am!

confessions...

have you noticed signs of Christmas around the corner?  I was driving home from the Sunday night Grandma visists and noticed so many homes and businesses with their Christmas lights on.  I heard Christmas comercials on the radio, and suddenly I started singing Christmas songs to Boston.  I was just admiring our NEWSLETTER that was sent out last night and the thought came to me, I haven't even scrapped a single picture, memory, anything from last year's Christmas!  I haven't even had the photos printed! I can't believe I have let something so important go un-scrapped!  Luckily since it was Boston's first Christmas I wrote in his journal the gifts he received, I did do something LOL.  So, this week while I'm off work for Thanksgiving I'm going to scrapbook and get myself caught up.  Then I'll start on Christmas cards :)  I promise to show pictures of what I accomplish - hopefully a lot!
