October Beginner Basics...

If you have 45 minutes and a stash of great Adornit product, you can start AND FINISH scrapping your October memories – right now. What a great month for scrapbooking! You could spend hours working on fun layouts of costumes, decorations, and all the creepy treats you make. Then there’s pumpkin carving, trick or treating, the corn maze, spook alley, and the school festival! That’s a lot of scrapping. Adornit has fabulous  Halloween and autumn papers and embellishments to help you out.

Here's a big tip for the quickest and easiest way to finish your October layouts: Adornit FOAM ALPHABET STICKERS - uppercase and lowercase. These little wonders pack a big punch on your layouts. They're so inexpensive and easy to use - you’ll want to stash a package in every color. I loved using foam stickers on my October layouts. They turned out pretty cute, but even better, they didn’t take me long because I used the stickers for quick titles. You can even fancy-up the letters with fine-point pens, paints or stamps. 

Here’s the whole point of this post. Why do I want you to save time on your Halloween scrapping?? Two words. CHRISTMAS PLANNING. Yes, you gotta get going on your Christmas lists and handmade gifts so you’ll be less stressed in December. I promise...it really helps.

Our cute friend Andrea Edwards (who is sooo talented and creative) has started an etsy shop selling the most adorable felted food. I just think this is the best Christmas gift idea for little ones. We had a really busy weekend but Saturday went really well and we were really happy with the results for our first boutique. Thank you to all our wonderful vendors and for all the people who stopped by to shop on Saturday. Here are a few shots Ali took before customers came.

sweet things boutique...

If you are local then we would love for you to stop by our boutique at my house next weekend. i have a new addiction...

the last three nights i have ribbon all over the kitchen and family room as i have been whipping up all sorts of new hairbows to sell in my etsy shop. i'm loving each and every one that i finish! i have used all of our adornit ribbon and the new designs that have glitter just make the hairbows scrumptious! watch my etsy shop the next few weeks for all my new designs to be revealed.

Oh, and I can't forget to tell you about the person I met this weekend. I was soooo excited and had absolutely no clue that she was local. I have been a lover of olive juice for quite some time and that's what has inspired me to sew my fun aprons. Well as we were cleaning up at one of the boutiques this weekend I actually got to meet  miss olive juice herself. It was like meeting a crafty superstar :)

i've really been trying...

to think of an interesting blog post for all of you. But in all honesty life has just been very day-to-day yet at the same time very busy. I don't want to bore you but I just haven't felt like any of it has been worth blogging about. So... I guess I will tell you 10 things recent happenings:
1. Yesterday we had a really fun "girls" night. Four of us packed up in Emily's van and went to Mountain Green (about 1 1/2 drive) for a fun boutique that our cousin Melissa has at her house. I purchased some cute new decorations for fall and ordered one for Christmas.
2. Eric and his friend, Kade are traveling to Denver to go to a Bronco's game. It will be Eric's first NFL game and he's really excited.
3. I just put Boston back in his bed for the 6th time in the last hour. Sometimes nap time is a struggle.
4. I plan on making some new pendants this weekend. My etsy shop is starting to look pretty bare.
5. Debbie and I are officially done preparing our Cut the Crazy out of Christmas class. Now we just have to wait until class starts - we're both really excited!
6. We're launching something really big next week - I can't wait to share more information (check back Monday)
7. I am really struggling with summer being over. Usually I love fall but this year it just reminds me that winter is right around the corner. With two very, very active boys it will be hard to be cooped up inside. All summer we have been outside constantly so it's getting hard now that it's getting colder. There is snow in our weather forecast this weekend BLAH!
8. Ali is coming over on Sunday to make succors with me. We are hosting a boutique on October 25th here in Lewiston so we're getting lots of fun stuff prepared. I'm really excited because I invited Eileen to bring her watches and Tori to bring her cute bags.
9. My great Aunt Renae suddenly passed away yesterday so we have been in a bit of shock. Our family (McMullin's) are the only ones who have moved away so we only get to see our family in Salt Lake periodically. The last time I saw her was at Ali's party/bridal shower at the park in August. At the time my Uncle Dix was going through his last round of chemotherapy. She was just as vivacious and happy as ever so it's so bizarre to thing that she's gone. I am heartbroken for her family and especially my Uncle Dix. As I was thinking about her I grabbed my cd with my pictures from the party and was relieved to see I had one of her - just the way I remember her that day.

 

 

10. And last, I don't want to leave on a sad note - we celebrated Eric's birthday on Sunday and had a wonderful day (and I am terrible because I didn't take a single photo). But I have added a birthday planner to my creative to do list because I want something really fun to document and remember birthdays. So, when the day comes that I actually make it I'll be sure to tell you.

Have a FANTASTIC weekend! Now I've gotta get some work done because Boston is finally asleep! And I'm really excited to watch Oprah again today. I've been loving that she's had Suzie Orman on so much talking about this financial stuff.
