Giveaway!!!

Here at the offices of Adornit we are in CRUNCH time (and no that does not mean we are working out our abs, LOL). We are wrapping up our Late Summer/Fall/Holiday collections and we are sending them to press on Wednesday afternoon - can't wait to show them to you.

Anyway I have a feeling that I may have a bit of blog neglect so I thought since we are stressed out here that I would do something fun on my blog - how about a giveaway??? Swimming Lessons...

This week Boston completed Level 1 at his swimming lessons.  He loved every minute! This is Boston's recap of his week: "I like all my new friends, I''m glad I could come here, they said you couldn't splash in the water with your hands, it was scary when I started sinking on my back float, my favorite was diving down with my nose plugged."

Friday Findings: Winborg Sisters' Design

I bought this canvas giclee print a several weeks ago at a boutique. They had several of the Winborg Design Giclee's and I had a hard time deciding which one to bring home until I saw this print. Little Boy Blue is a favorite here at our house - one that Erics sings to the boys at night. My heart melted when I saw this piece and I immediately walked to the register without another thought. The boys have loved it and now when they sing it they point to each of the characters in the nursery rhyme.

Last weekend they had a booth at a local art faire and I had the chance to ooogle again and their great giclee's and even had a chance to meet one of the artists.

Take some time and check out their etsy shop and blog. If their artwork looks familiar it's because they are also sold through Pottery Barn and Oopsy Daisy.

Project Four with Abbie...

My son has had an obsession with animals for a long time!  I have so many pictures just like these of him lovin' on the animals at a petting zoo or farm:)

This paper for the Wild West collection is just too cute and fun and I felt like it didn't need much to dress it up!  I used it as the background paper and just added some pictures backed in white cardstock.  I journaled around my pictures to really "frame" my pictures and added some black stitching around the exterior of the page to really frame the whole page.

I then added some fun stars and cowboy stickers to keep with the theme, while not adding too much as to distract from the pictures and cute paper! 

 

One of my more simpler pages, but sometimes simple is better, right? :)

Project Three with Abbie...

We just moved into a new house and I have been wanting to throw a party to invite people over to see our new place! I thought it would be SO cute to use paper from the BBQ collection to create some invites and decor!

For the invite, I stitched six squares on a card. I then curled up the ends a bit. I wanted to card to kind of look like a picnic blanket. 

THEN, I had the idea to alter the 4-pack box some whine coolers we bought came in!! All I did was cover it in paper and cute ribbon. I plan on using it to hold utensils or maybe even condiments? hmm, haven't decided yet, but I LOVE it!! and it was so easy and fast!! I will be trying this again sometime!

Project Two with Abbie...

When I saw this cute sticker that said "Great Catch" it immediately inspired me for this whole card! My Anniversary is coming up so I thought this would make a CUTE card for my hubby!!  What man doesn't like fishing, right?

The waves were SUPER easy to make.  All I did was take the blue paper and cut a strip of paper.  I then used my circle punch to cut half circles in the paper creating a wave shape.  I chose to add a water border sticker on top of it to really add more "water" detail.  I cut the cute little fishing pole from a piece of patterned paper. Added some string with 2 hearts on the end. Added a bow and my tag and I was done:) LOVE how this turned. Probably one of my favorite cards I have ever made:)

Project One with Abbie...

I LOVE all the pretty and feminine papers that Adornit creates.  This was the first page I made with all the goodies I received because I was SO drawn to these papers. I LOVE the background paper here that already is shaped with what looks to be real stitching on it!! How fun and CONVENIENT is that?!

I took this picture of my friends daughter, Hailey, and thought the "vintage" feel of the photograph worked perfectly with the Chocolate Toile paper from the Rae collection.  I love that paper, so vintage and whimsical! 

I also chose to add a little pink paper ruffle along my page to emulate the pink tutu that Hailey is wearing.  I added some pink and white flowers to make the page even more girlie, and I was done:)

Hi! My name is Abbie Torroll. I am a proud Air Force wife and the mother of two boys, Landon and Gavin. I am married to my college sweetheart and we currently live in Oklahoma, but I consider Colorado my home:)  When I am not scrapping, I enjoy hanging out with my family, photography, interior design, spending time outdoors, running and Wii Mario Cart :)

I started scrapbooking when I was in Junior High. My mom went through a VERY short scrapbooking phase, and although she lost interest, I was HOOKED!! So much in the scrapbooking industry has changed since then, and thank god! I love everything about scrapbooking. I love the "me" time it creates. I love celebrating all of life's little moments that I never want to forget, and I love the feeling of creating something beautiful with my hands. I don't think a day goes by that I don't do something scrappy, whether it be scrapping a new page, printing off pics, or just thinking about a new idea for a layout!

Happy Father's Day!

This is my husband, Eric. You're probably wondering why I would post a picture of him with his mouth wide open. You would think I would find something a bit more "blog appropriate" and that I would have a different picture. Well, those of you that know my husband you would know that is just impossible with him. This is my husband's famous picture face. It is a very rare occasion that he will look at the camera and not pull this goofy face. One of these days I am going to be ambitious and find all the pictures I have of him pulling this face and make a layout.

We have had a really nice Father's Day today - hope you have too! I thought last weekend was Father's Day so I packed his present with us camping. I was so excited to give it to him I still had him open it. He received a new digital camera to take with him on his four wheeling trips.

I love him so much and am so grateful for everything his does for me and the kids. He is a HUGE help around the house and is always willing to help tend the kids if I need to go into work. I am glad we have a day that we can celebrate the men in our life and tell them how wonderful they are.

Friday Findings: Owl Necklace

Lately I have been take Friday's off from work, but I had a lot of work to do so I went in for a few hours today. My cute friend and employee Janet was also working and had on her adorable owl necklace that her daughters gave her as a gift. I KNEW when I saw her wearing it that I had to share it with you today for Friday Findings.
