I love to pull my hair back in a ponytail, especially on a hot summer day. I used our Owl Dot Fabric and created some really cute pony tail holders. Here's how:
You will need to purchase Cover Button Kit at your local sewing or quilt shop. I used a 2.75 button. Pull off the button shank using wire cutters.
Cut a piece of 24 gauge wire about 3" long.
Bend the wire in half to create a loop and insert the ponytail elastic
into the loop. Insert the ends of the wire through the holes on the
button back and twist for tight closure. Cut lose ends of wire. Make sure you wire the ponytail elastic on the correct side!
Cut a circle out of the fabric you desire, use the template on the back of your packaging. You will need to make sure you have excess so that it can easily wrap around the button.
Center fabric wrong side up, over the mold (included in your kit). Hold fabric firmly and press button shell into mold.
Tuck fabric into button shell. Place back over tucked fabric, press down firmly and snap into place.
Here's the finished result - cute huh??
And a few more, once you create one it's hard to stop.
I also purchased the 1 1/2" button kit and create these bobby pins.
