Today our Blog Party is taking flight. We’ve gathered a bunch of cute bird projects to share with our party guests.

Everyone loves birds, and Adornit’s wise old owls are the cutest birds you’ll find anywhere. Owls are a hoot to use – they’re great for layouts with kids OR grandpas!

Now to tell you about today’s projects. First we want to show you our Owl Wood Storybook. This is another in our series of large-sized (9” x 15”) alterable wood albums. You’ll love the way Tammy has altered this book and added traditional scrapbook pages into the mix. The pre-printed, pre-cut shapes make it extra simple.

2009 Summer Blog Party: Day Six

It wouldn’t be a summer blog event without a garden party! We don’t know about your garden, but ours is looking a little neglected after all the scrapping we’ve been doing lately. But no matter, Tammy created an adorable wood flower that is just as pretty as a real one! What a great gift idea for those late summer birthdays. It’s easy to make because it comes in a kit with everything you need – even a die cut flower image that you apply in a jiffy with decoupage or adhesive. This Flower Topper Kit also includes the wood base (with quotes) and metal stem with leaves.

One thing we love about our gardens is the abundance of butterflies. They seem to love the daisies and columbine we planted especially for them. We’ll remember butterflies in December with our darling Butterfly Garland. The garland is made from chipboard shapes that are covered with paper and decorated with quotes, photos, and embellishments. Debbie calls it her “Take Joy” garland – reminding her that behind every shadow, yet within reach, is joy.

2009 Summer Blog Party: Day Five

Today’s Blog Party celebrates splashing-good “water” memories. We’re sharing some fun layouts to inspire you to create water-themed scrapbook pages.

There’s something about summer that draws us to the water’s edge. We love to go to the beach, play on the shore of our favorite lake, wade in the icy ripples of the local river, or watch our kids romp at the water park. The sunshine warms us, and the cold drinks quench our thirst. We take along the necessities – sunscreen, snack foods, and, of course, our cameras. Beach photos help us remember extra-special memories.

Enjoy these layouts using a variety of Adornit products from a variety of our new collections. Because the Adornit color palette coordinates from collection to collection, you can mix and match just as we did on our samples. Have fun mixing it up as you scrap!

2009 Summer Blog Party: Day Four

We’re going camping today and we hope you’ll come along! Grab your hiking shoes, backpack, and bug spray and join us in the great outdoors! This would be a great pre-camp project for Girl Scouts or girl’s youth groups. It’s amazingly flexible and fill-able – you can fit lots of supplies between the pockets. 2009 Summer Blog Party: Day Two

Today is CHALLENGE DAY! What’s a scrapbook party without a game – and for scrappers, a layout challenge is the best game of all! This challenge will be UNIQUE and easy for you, because we have an exclusive PageMap from the fabulous sketch designer, Becky Fleck! We were so excited when Becky designed us the PageMap for our Blog Party. (Thanks Becky.) Making a layout from a PageMap is fun and easy; if you haven’t tried it, today is the perfect opportunity.

Becky Fleck has authored a book of PageMaps and scrapping inspiration called Scrapbook PageMaps – Sketches for Creative Layouts. You can also visit Becky’s website and blog at http://www.pagemaps.com. The following description is from the website: “The hard-cover book has 60 never-before-seen sketches in five popular sizes, along with 140 samples of artwork. You will also receive a deck of laminated cards that includes a thumbnail of all of the sketches in the book along with corresponding finished layouts. Helpful resource information such as a supply list and photo sizes are included on each card, along with page information cross-referencing the sketch back to the book.”

Back to the challenge! Here’s what you do:
Deadline: Tuesday, August 4, 2009
1. Print Becky’s PageMap (above) and gather your photos and supplies.
2. Create a scrapbook page using the PageMap as a guide – it doesn’t have to be exactly like the map.
3. Upload a photo of your layout on your blog or other sharing place.
4. Post a comment below including a link to your pagemap.
5. We’ll randomly choose one of the layouts for a fun Adornit prize package.

For Day 2 of our blog party, we gals here at Adornit made our own layouts from Becky’s PageMap. As you can see, we ended up with a variety of themes and styles from one sketch.  Isn’t it fun to see how they’re “the same and yet different”?  We can’t wait to see what you come up with.
